Who Am I? A Personal Look At Defining Your Business. Who am I?Sounds like a unique question right? Yet it's something you require to understand so you have a direction, an emphasis. In the business world the first thing they tell you would be to jot down your goals. This may work with lots of people, but I am not one of these people. I had to flounder around a little before I could answer that question.
My company failed profusely because I did not have a great answer for your question. Thinking about going into business you need to answer that easy question of "Who am I?" I'm here getting started all over again and this site looks like I'm just starting out, but a minimum of I have a definite concept of who I am.
Just getting started does mean that I'm of low quality in internet marketing yet. However i will be, because since I understand the solution, I know where you can focus the majority of attention Burberry bags, no more distractions by stuff that are tangents.
Initially when i first began, all I knew was which i wanted my very own business and an internet retail business appeared like what you want. I began with E-books plus some physical products, then I tried some web design, then dormant, then back to retail, but the simple answer is that i'm a marketer and a publisher, however i didn't know that, in fact I denied it.
The idea of becoming an internet marketer gave me a serious case of the willies. After all, just hearing the phrase "How I made $50k inside a week" makes my skin crawl, whether or not the claim holds true. My concept of what a marketer was is not very flattering, think "used car salesman" and you have the overall idea.
Recently however, while giving in to fate and reading the marketing hype products and e-mails, I had several startling revelations. The first was when one of them was describing how you have to not just send promos for your list, but you also need to send them useful and high quality information. Quite simply, consider the customer's welfare.
This floored me. Not because it was a good idea, it's something I've always believed in and then try to do in order to the best of my ability. No, it floored me just because a what are known as "internet guru" was claiming it as being one of the reasons they succeeded, "Hey, this guy makes sense". Yup, some of those marketers actually know what they're talking about.
The final revelation was in redefining exactly what a marketer does. A marketer requires a quality product, puts it into a beautiful package (the hype), and sets it in front of the segment of customers that will most likely be interested in it.
That stunned me when I realized that's all marketing was. Quality, attractive package, targeted customers. Now the majority of you most likely already knew that, but I am stuck within the "marketers really are a bunch of hype mongering car salesmen" mentality which i couldn't see it.
I have some challenge with the thought of as being a marketer however, I am not so good with phrasing things, I do not do well at hype, but I do like informing people and helping people.
Take my friend Nancy's site for example, Nana's Pretties (nanaspretties), that isn't a joint venture partner link by the way, I do not get anything for referrals. She does quilting and creates quilting patterns, has spots at the quilting shows, etc. She sells her patterns off her web site and also at the shows.
I continue to come up with ways to drive traffic towards her site and increase her business. Have i got an interest in quilting? No, though the quilts are nice to check out and snuggle in. Do I benefit from increasing her business? A bit, although not really.
I update her website and send out her newsletter, there you have it. I don't get a dime to get her traffic or increasing her business and she didn't hire me to get it done, I actually do it on my own. I do it because she's my pal and that i need to see her continue to succeed. Though I do take advantage of the fact that as she develops new patterns she's me use them her site, that's more incidental than earnings stream.
Same goes with Bonnie's restaurant site paradoxorganiccafe, a nearby vegan/vegetarian cafe here in Portland, Oregon. All I actually do is update recption menus on it Burberry outlet. Her site really doesn't do anything whatsoever more than tell your friends what's cooking and there's nothing on the market on it. Getting visitors or traffic to her site does not help her a whole lot other than letting people know she's there and maybe getting her some more foot traffic, however i still cook up methods to help (every pun intended) because her success is important in my experience because she is my pal.
Let me be clear here. I get nothing to get traffic to their sites. Nothing, nada, zilch. I get nothing if you buy a pattern from Nancy and I get nothing if you order the daily special from Bonnie. I edit their websites when they have changes to be made which is not to do with the quantity of traffic they receive. Others pay me for getting visitors to them, but these two do not.
The items I actually do will be to get products into people's hands be it getting them to Nancy's site or Bonnie's cafe or even the latest internet marketing e-book out to my mailing list.
So I'm done floundering around trying to figure out basically is going this way or that way, because I've answered the question of "who am I". Now it's a few how do I do this most effectively? Is that this product associated with a real value even if it's merely entertainment value Burberry sale?
Therefore if so when I recieve Nancy to create that e-book about quilts Online Outlet Store, Troy to create his travel guide, Steve to finish his novel, or me discovering an advertising and marketing book full of useful tidbits, I'm going to be working on methods for getting these to those who will benefit most from them. After all, I'm a marketer, that's what I actually do.
